Embark on a picturesque 1-hour road trip to a beautiful harbour on the west side of Vesterålen, where an unforgettable experience awaits you. Whilst we warm up with hot drinks our seasoned guide and photographer will reveal all you need to know about the white-tailed sea eagle, and how to capture the best shot of these magnificent birds.
Next, hop on a boat and journey along the small islands dotted along the coastline, enjoying the stunning scenery and untamed wildlife of the fjords. Here, you will come very close to the majestic white-tailed eagles that soar gracefully above us hoping for some lunch! So you may want to brace yourself and keep your fingers on your camera shutters when they swoop down for a bite of fish! Afterwards, we will savour a hot bowl of soup and bread when we return to the harbour.

Yes, it can be quite chilly but don’t worry, you are provided with a safe and super-warm insulated flotation suit along with optional gloves, balaclava, hat and goggles.
Yes! We will get very close to the eagles at times, but they are often very fast so you need to be ready for them. Before we embark on the boat you will be given the opportunity to receive help in getting the best camera settings set up in advance.
Of course, you can just use your smartphone camera as well. Some of the best video we have seen is slow-mo footage from smartphones. Just beware that your phone’s batteries will not like the cold and you might find it doesn’t last the trip! So bring a backup battery pack if you can.
